Blue Corduroy

I found this blue corduroy on the recent trip to Goodwill. Are you beginning to see a pattern here== all this Goodwill shopping. I love it.  Anyway, the price on the fabric was $7.99 so I took off the rubber bands and unrolled the fabric. It appeared to be about 4yards of fabric-- or approximately $2.00 a yard. It is a nice soft almost feather wale corduroy.

So I made Madison a pair of pants and an aline top.  The top pattern is the Martha Pullen aline pattern shortened and the pants are an out of print Simplicity pattern. Not sure where the Machine applique is from but I think maybe Designs by Juju.

I also made Wyatt a pair of pants from the fabric and I believe there is enough left to make one more pair of pants. Not bad for $8.00. I love a bargain.

Christmas Stocking

Several years ago I began making Christmas stockings for the grands to have at our house. As I remember I made Tripp and Emma Kate's stockings at the same time. Laster, as each grandchild was born I made as close as possible identical stockings.

This year we have Abby our newest addition. I was unable to purchase velveteen in our small town and had her mother look at her local Hobby Lobby. One day the idea came to me that I could probably go to Goodwill and find a velveteen dress and cut one from it . So that is exactly what I did. It is not as good of a match
in color as I would have liked and I may replace it next year but it will certainly work for this year.

I used the same machine embroidery that I used on the previous stockings.

Thanks for stopping by,

OOhh So Soft Minky

I looovee minky. It is so cuddly soft I think I want to wear it too. Probably not age appropriate though. darn...

I actually bought this minky on  a trip to Joanns a couple of months ago with the intention to make dresses for Emma Kate and Madison for Christmas. But when I got ready to make them I decided that was just not what I wanted to make. So I opted instead to make pants with a monogrammed t shirt in stead.  They will probably get more use out of the pants and shirts. Probably better for school in the winter.

Wyatt wearing his new jacket

I got this picture of Wyatt wearing his new jacket yesterday. I thought I would share it. I intentionally cut the sleeves longer so that maybe he could get more wear out of it but maybe I need to shorten them. What do you think? I can do it if needed when we go at Christmas.
