More Easter

I know I have already posted once today but I wanted to post the final Easter sewing.

These little shortalls  and shirts are for the 2 youngest grandsons. They are only 6 months apart in age so there isn't much difference in the size.

The pattern for the shortalls is Childrens Corner Johnny and the shirts are Childrens Corner Michael.

Mint Green Easter

This dress is for Emma Kate for Easter.  I picked out 2 cuts of fabric and let her choose which she wanted. the mint green broadcloth is what she chose.

The smocking plate is from an old Creative Needle magazine with some modifications. It was originally meant for a basic yoke dress-- which would mean it would not have enough stretch at the lower side for the bishop dress.

I barely had enough fabric for the dress so I was only able to make a 2 inch hem. Normally, I prefer a 4 inch hem. I know some people even prefer a 6 inch hem in heirloom sewing. Really, the important thing is that i was able to make the dress with Emma Kate's fabric choice.

Easter Dress For Madison

When my girls were young and I made their Easter dresses I would always procrastinate till the week of Easter to even shop for the fabrics.  Since they have grown up and I sew for the grands I seem to plan my time better and get the outfits made earlier. Well, this year I let the time get away from me and I am still in the finishing up process.

I do have Madison and Emma Kate's dresses completed but I only have pictures of Madison's ready for a post.

The fabric is ming blue imperial broadcloth. The smocking plate is from an old Creative Needle Magazine.

I have to say the color of this dress reminds me of an Easter Egg.

Thanks for stopping by,

I love  this time of year.
The irises are beginning to poke their shoots out of the ground. I've seen some buttercups blooming. It is  a sign of new life after a dreary gloomy winter. What's not to love-- right?

The Spring Sewing Continues

I am continuing along with my spring sewing. I have been off work for 6 days and had some quality time in the sewing  room.

These short sets are for Dylan and Wyatt. Dylan is 2years old and Wyatt will be 2 in June. These are my idea of how a little boy should dress. Can't wait to see those chubby little knees this summer.

These shirts are made by a pattern titled Comfyalls. I usually cut it about an inch longer than the pattern. The shorts are a big 3 pattern.

These shortalls are made using Childrens Corner pattern Johnny. I just love the red stripe seersucker for summer.

Thanks so much for taking time to stop by.
