Fall jacket

I really seem to be in a sewing slump lately.  I just can't seem to get in the mood lately to work on anything.

I believe every fall since having grandkids-- which would be 8 years now-- I have made each child a jacket in the fall.  For the most part no one needed or wanted one this year. but recently when at my daughter's house for the birth of Abby she asked me if I would make Wyatt a jacket.  You see sewing slump or not if a grandchild needs something made Nana will oblige.

So this is what I ended up choosing for him. The outer fabric is chocolate brown corduroy and the lining is John Deere fabric. Can't wait to see if it fits him and how he likes it.

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

We have so much to be thankful for in this wonderful country we live in. Grateful to God for giving us his son so we would have the ultimate freedom. Grateful to the people who have gone to war to fight so as a country we can enjoy the many freedoms that so many others don't have.

I am truly blessed and can honestly say I have all I need. I am very thankful for these blessings because I know so many are without.

Abigail Rose

The past week was a busy but happy week. Abby made her appearance the day before Mom was to be induced. She is such a sweet little pretty thing. She is a good baby to boot. Mom and baby are doing fine. She was welcomed by big brother Wyatt.

I made these peasant dresses for Madison and Emma Kate last week. I like the way they turned out. I don't have the eye for coordinating fabrics that I wish I had but I am pretty happy with these.

Thanks for stopping by,

Who doesn't like a bargain?

I love getting a bargain and especially when I wasn't expecting one.
Last weekend 2 of the grands were at our home on Saturday morning and i made a donut run for breakfast. I passed a yard sale on the way to the donut  shop and thought I needed to stop on the way home. I just happened to know the folks having the yard sale and knew there were small children in the family.

So here I'm showing my haul...

first I got 2 tops for myself--- for $.50 each

Next I got Wyatt a pair of Levi jeans and a pair of Old Navy overalls-- I think it was $2 for the overalls and $1.00 for the jeans.

Next I got 2 receiving blankets for the new baby--

Then I monogrammed the white one

Next is a really soft fluffy pink blanket....for $.50

The picture doesn' t do the softness justice at all.

And last of all a little shirt--- I think it was 25 or 50 cents.

And now are you ready for the grand total................$5.50................can't beat that. Like I said who doesn't like a bargain.
